Our school can help with enrolment queries throughout the year.

Local enrolment area

Most schools have designated local enrolment areas. The School Finder shows our local enrolment area. Note: local enrolment areas are subject to change.

How to enrol

Contact us when you’re ready to enrol your child in our school. You may need to attend an interview with the principal. There you can discuss any medical conditions or other special circumstances before your child starts school. We may also complete a risk assessment on the enrolment.

For more information, visit high school enrolment.

Download an application to enrol (PDF 5.9MB).

The application form must be completed in English. However, a translated application to enrol may help you to fill out the form in English.

Non-local enrolments

As outlined in the department’s enrolment policy, our school may accept enrolments from outside our local enrolment area if places are available.

We will assess applications for non-local enrolment on a case-by-case basis.

Temporary visas and international students

For information about eligibility and forms to complete, visit the Temporary Residents Program.

Distance education

Distance education is an equity program for students who are geographically isolated or whose individual circumstances prevent them from regularly attending school. Students must meet one of the conditions in the Distance Education Enrolment Procedures to be eligible to access this program as a full-time student.

Distance education schools also provide single subjects for students in Years 9 to 12 to enhance curriculum choice. Please contact us for details.

For more information about educational opportunities in rural areas, visit Rural and distance education.

International students

We welcome international students at Ku-ring-gai High School, and value the contributions that students from diverse cultural backgrounds bring to the school. International students are well supported and provided with guidance during their stay in Australia. Our school provides a place for students to gather, celebrate culture and feel at home.

Deparment of Education international is responsible for:

  • enrolment of International students and temporary residents in English courses, NSW Government Schools and TAFE NSW Institutes
  • educational study tours
  • workforce development
  • educational consultancy

Ku-ring-gai High School's experienced Education acronym learning (EALD) teachers recognise and respond to the challenges faced by EALD learners who require additional learning support to achieve successful school outcomes. After-school classes are available for Year 11 and 12 international students to assist in developing their English language skills and preparing for assessment tasks.

EALD learners are given numerous opportunities to share their diverse knowledge and experiences, making them a valuable asset to our school community. Students regularly engage in International student gatherings, excursions and activities in which they can celebrate both the Australian way of life and share their own culture in our school community.
