Harmony Day 2019 at Ku-ring-gai High School
What is Harmony Day?
Harmony Day takes place annually on the 21st of March, coinciding with the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
At its core, Harmony day is a celebration of the unique cultural diversity here in Australia, teaching key values of inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians. Ku-ring-gai High School uses this day to not only celebrate multiculturalism within our school but as a means to start dialogues around heritage, culture and community. The tagline “Everyone Belongs” describes the very essence of Harmony Day, in conjunction with the colour Orange which traditionally signifies social communication, meaningful conversations, freedom of ideas and mutual respect.
