Alumni in Focus: Amelia Guan

Amelia Guan graduated from Ku-ring-gai High School in 2018, having studied both Music 2 and Music Extension for her Higher School Certificate.

Amelia is now a student at New England Conservatory in Boston, United States. Recognised internationally as a leader among music schools, educating and training musicians of all ages from around the world. The New England Conservatory cultivates a diverse, dynamic community for students, providing performance opportunities and high-calibre training by 225 internationally-esteemed artist-teachers and scholars.

While the COVID pandemic has brought Amelia back to Australia, her studies continue online. Studying music theory and composition under award-winning composer Kati Agócs.

When interviewed for this article, Amelia said “At the end, I want to say, nothing is impossible, just follow your dream.”

The Ku-ring-gai High School community is proud of Amelia’s achievements and wish her well for her studies.
