Alumni in Focus: Reece Prosper

Disneyland

Reece Prosper graduated from Ku-Ring-Gai High School in 2017 studying Dance and Drama from Year 7 through to Year 12. Halfway through his final year of school, Reece auditioned for Brent Street Performing Arts in the hopes of pursuing full-time dance college in the following year. He soon learned that would become a reality, successfully auditioning to start in 2018.

Reece said, “Full time was one of the best and worst things I’ve ever done. Dancing five days a week for seven hours a day tends to have a strain on your body. Luckily, I got to do all this dancing with my best friend Gelina Enriquez, another Ku-Ring-Gai High School alumni student.”

Halfway through his year at Brent Street, Disneyland Paris held auditions in Sydney. Reece’s dream has always been to work in children’s entertainment in any way, making this audition extremely important to him.

After a gruelling audition process, Reece landed an extensive contract in Paris, performing in one of the biggest companies in the world. Having to leave his family, friends, job and overall lifestyle to live alone on the other side of world was the most difficult thing he has ever had to do.

Reece has now been living in Paris for two years, dancing in many shows and parades throughout Disneyland. He is also very good friends with some royalty such as Prince Phillip from “Sleeping Beauty” and Prince Florian from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.”

Reece said, “Having the ability to make kids smile and laugh, as well as making their dreams come true, is one of the most rewarding things I could ask for. Ku-Ring-Gai High School was one of the most accepting high schools, being so encouraging of what I wanted to do in life and assisting me with auditions and performances. Thank you for being a part of my journey to adulthood.”
