Learning Sphere Spotlight: Master of Music

Recently, Marco, a Year 11 music student, completed his Level 2 - 8th Grade Australian Music Examinations Board practical exam.

Marco was required to perform four musical pieces, Alexander Rag (Kats-Chernin), Fantasie-Impromptu (Chopin), and two of his own choosing, Nocturne Op 32 No 1 (Chopin) and Moonlight Sonata (3^rd movt) (Beethoven).

His performance of Fantasie-Impromptu (Chopin) was described by his examiner as “a dazzling display of technical virtuosity which was applied with musical meaning, especially in the middle section which was expressed with appropriate poetic eloquence. A confident and fluent delivery which captured the romantic style.” You can view this performance below.

Not only did Marco pass this examination he achieved an amazing 'A'.
