At the end of Term 3, five of our Year 10 Student Union for Sustainability leaders participated in a Biodiversity Camp at Muogrammara Nature Reserve.
Students learned about animal surveying and had the chance to go on night and early morning walks to get hands-on field experience.
Animal experts shared their knowledge and taught students how to find tracks, identify scat and how to listen and identify different animal calls. Students came across a variety of animals, including a Powerful Owl, Sugar Gliders, and an assortment of birds.
Students were taught about Aboriginal culture and the different ways culture connects with the land, visiting sacred engraving sights around the nature reserve.
It was an educational and fun experience that our students can use in their future studies and careers.
