10 Dec 2022
It has been a big week at Qudos Bank Arena for our Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services (Entertainment) students, completing pre-production preparation, bump in, and dress rehearsals for Schools Spectacular before doors opened for the first time yesterday.
Ku-ring-gai High School students support a cast of over 4,700 students from public schools right across NSW.
As part of the Entertainment course, 16 students were selected to work backstage to help bring the show together. These students join 35 other Entertainment students from across the state and work closely with the production team to help within audio, lighting, vision and staging. Moving sets, operating followspots, assisting with cast movement, and joining the broadcast team operating cameras - reinforcing their classroom learning and making critical industry connections.
Mr. Jackson Redshaw, Entertainment Teacher, is also at Schools Spectacular as the Student Production Team Manager.
Our students will help with the final show tonight before helping bump out the arena.
Be sure to tune into the broadcast on Channel 7 on 17 December 2022 at 7pm to see our students help create the magic.
