Students can further explore the importance of mathematical skills with the expanded Everyday Maths Hub.

Maths is a core subject in a student’s education. Not surprisingly, maths is connected to a wide range of careers, passions, and activities.

Students can find out more within the Everyday Maths Hub about careers involving maths, including what it takes to go viral, busting cybercrime, game design jobs, maths in trades and jobs for the future. Also, hear from those who use maths everyday in their work and play.

Students can also participate in a range of mathematical activities. This might include budgeting, travel, cooking, managing time or buying a car. All designed to develop confidence and nurture skills in maths.

Developed by the NSW Department of Education, with content curated by primary and secondary mathematics teachers, the Everyday Maths hub is designed for students to engage positively with mathematics through everyday activities.

Within the Everyday Maths hub you’ll also find resources on maths and careers, financial literacy, plus translated content in Arabic, Chinese - simplified, Chinese - traditional, Hindi and Vietnamese.
